Players in the United States cannot play at worldpokerseat.com.

With the recent passing of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006 by the United State Congress, the "best site" now depends on where you reside, since some sites have stopped taking new players from the United States (or from specific states in the United States).

I recommend three sites in particular for their nice bonuses, great game selection, and excellent sit-and-go tournaments at all stakes. As of this writing, all of these sites take players from any state in the US (as well as all non-US players, of course).

Mansion Poker: http://www.mansion.com/?trackid=192749
FullTilt: http://www.fulltiltpoker.com/?key=MDAwMDJCNTMwMDAwNjhEMjIwODA4MDIxMDAwMDAwMDA
PokerStars: http://www.pokerstars.com/?source=robertmedl.com

If these sites are not to your liking, there are many, many more poker sites that you can check out.
US players that reside in any of IL, IN, LA, MI, NJ, NV, NY, OR, SD, WA, WI: http://theonlinecasinogamblingdirectory.com/s.php?as_usa=1&SRC=YahooAnswers&t=Poker
US players from all other states have a few more choices available: http://theonlinecasinogamblingdirectory.com/s.php?as_usa=2&SRC=YahooAnswers&t=Poker
Non-US players have the most choices: http://theonlinecasinogamblingdirectory.com/s.php?SRC=YahooAnswers&t=Poker

Best of luck!
Robert

If I were you, I'd avoid the minority sites. The changes to the US market recently have meant a lot of smaller sites are in severe danger of bankruptcy. If they disappear, so will your $.

Stick to the big boys. I don't know where you live, but any of these sites will accept players from any country, including the USA: http://www.church-of-texas-holdem.com/usa-friendly-poker-sites.html

I personally have been to many poker sites and the one that i would go with as far as texas hold em goes is Ultimatebet.com. It has good rules for real money games, you can deposit and withdraw easily without fees. and the tables aren't "rigged" for all innners
