I tried Kalms (recommended to me) when I lost someone I loved which hit me pretty hard. They do work, to a degree, but it takes a good couple of weeks to kick in. The bonus is that they are natural plant extract so you're not putting anything toxic into your body which is a bonus.

Short-term they are fine but don't expect an immediate effect.

Long-term it may be worth considering looking into other options available to you such as counselling to try to work out why you feel this anxious over social situations (if you don't already know).

Good luck!

have tried some, my parents take them sometimes, theyre not particularly stong and just help you relex if you are a bit stressed. Although I dont think they are any better than having a nice long bath or taking some exercise. I wouldnt use them to treat issues such as anxiety or depression, if youre finding things getting on top of you at this time of the year go see your doctor for some medication which will really help you.
In the meantime remember christmas will be over soon and its about having fun not having everything perfect!

Ok....antipressants can be dangerous for young ppl under the age of 17 to take. As for medications that can help with anxiety and depression...I have had success with Effexor XR and Trazodone. Both are used to treat both symptoms you mentioned. I have been diagnosed with Clinical Depression and SAD (Social anxiety disorder). The Effexor and Trazodone have allowed me to function again. I am in sales so having anxiety about being in social situations really wasn't working out real well. It sounds to me like you need to speak to a professional about the issues you are having. Be sure to do a lot of research and get educated about the different medications available on the market right now. Cymbalta is supposed to be good for treating both the emotional & physical symptoms of depression. Also be active in your treatment and don't be afraid to seek help. You can get help and live a normal life. I am!

I find Kalms help you relax more at bed time than anything else. St Johns Wort is supposed to be quite good (never tried it myself) I take diazepam for flying, this relaxes me (as i have a severe fear of flying), but can only be prescribed by a doctor.

Kalms are a very mild traditional herbal remedy, a combination of pure plant extracts which are suppose to help relieve the worry, stress and strains of everyday life. It also is suppose to relieve symptoms of insomnia and help promote natural sleep. I regret that I tried it and they did absolutely nothing for me. Don't waste you money!

My wife swears by them, she used them to keep her calm on her driving test.
I suffer depression, I use CO - Codamol 30 /500 mostly for severe pain , but the codine helps me calm down and sleep.

Ask your doctor first as this medication has codine in it and reqires a doctors prescription.

Good luck

I used to get panic attacks when I was at work and they helped me. They won't do much for depression though. you should go to a doctor and get some diazepam
