Problem with remote starter control unit ?

My remote starter control unit no longer functions on my 1997 Dodge Caravan. It's about 7 yrs old and the green confirmation light stays on all the time. Just wondering if removing and replacing the 2 push button pads (de & resoldering) would solve this problem. Any thoughts ? Thanks in advance.

Silly question, but did you check the battery? Maybe the light staying on is a low voltage indicator. Check that first, then look for a universal replacement from the same manufacturer as the unit.
