I'm not saying that you can't express what you believe but why do so many people have to be rude or offensive? Is that necessary? I mean, just take a look at some of the questions people ask about God and Christianity and some of the answers people give. And even if some Christians you've met have been judgemental or not-so-Christian-like as they should be, is that a reason to offend all the others or worse, to offend a God that could very well exist?

Please don't misunderstand me. I am not saying that atheists, gays, non-Christians, or anyone else can't express their opinions. I'm just saying, why do they have to be rude or insulting? I am not saying that Christians have the right to be rude or insulting either.

Please also understand that I am not assuming that all non-Christians are rude. Please, people, I am not trying to insult anyone! I'm just trying to promote peace.

This is an incredibly open forum for the expression of a wide range of opinions. The answer is simply that there are rude people of all religions and beliefs. Their opinions appear here as well as those who answer in a thoughtful and polite manner. This is more a reflection of personality types than a reflection on any set of beliefs. I have seen answers and questions come from a variety of beliefs that have been very rude.
The expanded part of your question seems to be directing an accusation towards those that have had trouble with Christians in the past. I take offense at your suggestion that that just because you have found some people to be rude you should not be taking it out on others who do not believe in God. Before you point to the splinter in the eyes of others look at the log in your own eye. Hypocrite.

People should be able to express their beliefs no matter what it is but there is a right & wrong way to do it. You do not have to be rude. Not everyone beliefs the same even if they are the same religion they may have different view points about things. Just remember God loves everyone no matter what. God bless you and remeber the next time we answer questions on here remember think before we answer. Be a little nicer mabe it will catch on.

a million. end being so delicate 2. Atheism is approximately faith, as a result it belongs right here, whether you like it or no longer. 3. This gets asked one hundred situations each and every week. learn how to deal. 4. Christians are basically as impolite. 5. it quite isn't the "Christian only section" like Christians prefer to think of. infrequently absolutely everyone else however the Muslims dare to place up using Christians attitude on right here. without the Atheists, the Christians could never enable absolutely everyone else to place up. Edit: *drink* is a connection with this being between the various questions that get asked each and every bloody day because of the fact people won't be able to be afflicted to apply the hunt functionality. *drink* potential "anybody take a drink of booze because of the fact this stupid question basically have been given asked all over back". Its a ingesting occasion.

well i'm an agnostic and i've seen it from both sides equally i think it's because some christians in particular can't stand it when people don't share their beliefs adn points of view and that's when alot of stuff comes into the fold as you will then turn around after answering one question and see a christian come out and ask a question that's both insulting and intended to mock and humiliate the people who don't follow their beliefs and points of view and it occurs with others as well so it's everybody attacking everybody on here

Well there are philosophies that suggest that choice is an illusion. I'm not really sure about that. It seems a bit of a shame if discussion is stifled by rudeness. If the rudeness bothers us I gues we can choose to go and discuss things elsewhere, there are politer venues for sure. On the other hand perhaps if we persist in a more graceful approach then those who appear less graceful will learn or be uplifted.

Religion, by its very nature, is exclusive. That's to say they seek to exclude non-believers. You can only get to heaven (or whatever) by believing and so non-believers who continue to disbelieve are "lost". And because there is no way to prove that their beliefs are right, except in their own heads, believers tend to have to shore up those beliefs by attacking any ideas which undermine them.
So if people are being nasty to each other in their God's name then it probably tells you all you need to know about religion. Most people practising religion are well meaning and sincere but how they can sleep nights with all that blood on their hands beats me. Then again, every person on earth allows their government to solicit killing on their behalf so it's just human I guess. Doing it in the name of religion makes it worse somehow...
Cheer up, at least they're only doing it with words and not guns on Yahoo!
May your God go with you...

If everyone had a mirror that they could look in and see their true self, the world would be a better place. But instead we continue to throw stones and are sarcastic when dealing with others.
I think everyone has lost the idea of what a good Christian is.

"we must not contradict, but instruct, those that contradict us; for a madman is not cured by another running mad also." antisthenes
i think some people think it is necessary to be rude to bring a point across, because no one listens to reason or kindness anymore, unless they are open. when people point a finger at another, they don't realize they are pointing that finger at a part of themselves they don't like. we also do not realize that when we offend and hurt others, that that action in turn hurts us as well. i think people want to believe that their beliefs are the only ones that are truth because otherwise, why should it be so special? no one likes to be considered gullible, no one wants to be grifted. i think that may be a big reason why non-believers are so pointed in their disbelief. they want to "help" others just as much as believers want to "help". we truly are our brother's keepers, even when our actions do not evidence it.
Blessed be.

So.. are you saying that expressing a feeling of non-belief is being offensive to those who believe? It's ok for someone who's being rude and a Christian because they still believe in Christ but for someone who doesn't believe, if they are rude it's twice the offense? Really, we should all be equally unrude.

It really baffles me how people can be so rude to other people's questions on that section. Especially Christians [this is just from what i've seen]. Why put someone down for something they do or don't believe?
