Would you consider reading the book by Richard Dawkins titled "the God Delusion?"

Why or why not?

I have in fact, read the bible. I did so to try to understand it and all i found was a book that was almost totally incomprehensible unless you inject a preconcieved notion of what it is supposed to be.

David W. S:

That is a beautiful strawman you've constructed. Why not try to answer the question next time.

I would read it, I'm always interested in well thought out opinions, even if I disagree. How can I make an argument for my belief if I don't understand how those who disagree think?

Of course I would consider it. As a Christian I am all too aware of the fact that one of the ills of religion is closed-minedness. If a Christian is too insecure to learn about the world around him or her without taking religion into context than he or she must ask why they follow that lifestyle. If you are too insecure to learn and read about different views on "God" than you need to come to terms with the fact that your belief in God is not from physical evidence (like sight, sound, other) but instead comes from you CHOICE to hold that belief. If you are comfortabel with your choice to believe than a book like "The God Delusion" becomes interesting and intellectually stimulating, rather than threatening. That said I am not familiar with this book, and have made these comments assuming that the book and the author have good intentions.

You seem to be laboring under a delusion of your own sir. That of believing that all persons of faith are uneducated, closed minded bufoons, with the abject fear of being found wanting in our beliefs.

Your lack of apparent knowledge precludes me from expounding on this assurred supposition to the extent needed to disavow you of this glaring error.

would you consider reading the bible from cover to back? Why or why not? Richard Dawkins is a human being just like the people who wrote the bible.

I'm sure you did have your own preconceived notion of it being a fable and I highly doubt with your preconceived notion, you read it to its completion. Liar.

I'd read it. it would be a good test of faith. If so many people are reading it then it must be pretty good.

No, as far as I'm concerned after seeing him in interviews and reading about him, his opinion, to me, is not worth the paper it's printed on.
