The "media" always reports about bloodthirsty avengers, if some of them happen to be Muslim, then it will report it. I'm sure there are many peace loving Muslims, but the violent extremists have hit us a bit closer to home.

It is a myth perpetuated by the US press. The US prides itself on freedom of expression and the press in no way would condone censorship. But In the US there doesnt have to be censorship because all the US press are anti Muslim.I spent several years in Libya who were blamed by the press for every terrorist activity even though on every occasion, after further investigation, the terrorist act was found to have been committed by another state group or individual. Even in the Film "Mr President" hollywood wrote in the scrip of a terrorist act committed by the Libyans. In "Back to the future", there were Libyan Terrorists! The Oklahoma bombing was committed by a group of US rednecks. Who got the blame to begin with? the Libyans.
The US Govt is brainwashed againt muslims and for a while that meant Libya.That is why they totally ignored all the evidence that pointed to a lebanese militia group being responsible for Lockerbie. Col Gedafi saw that his only way forward was to put his hands up to something he didn't do. It cost his country a billions dollars in compensation nothing compared to the billions of dollars the sanctions were costing. But now the US are investing in Libya big time. Reagan ordered the bombing of Tripoli because some US troops were blown up in a bar in Hamburg. Colonel Gedafi's daughter was killed in that raid together with several people in a nearby hospital and a some French personnal working in the French Embassy. It later transpired that the group responsible was the Red October group which were a group of German anarchists By the way I am Christian.

Why does the media portray Christians as mindless hypocrites?
Money, and power.
Silly. The media will do anything (including support gay marraige and indirectly advertise) for a quick buck.
One great example is MTV.
Did you know the main producer who started MTV doesn't let his family watch it?
It's BULL!

In most third world countries attacking ones religion or religious beliefs are considered offensive. That is how the culture is, because their society is more religiously tied together than countries like U.S where only 10 or 20% of people even go to church. So , just let them be.

Generally, the US media are very sympathetic to fanatic Muslims.

most media people are atheist plus who owns the stations? find that out, the top guys and you'll answer your question. it goes up many levels of business owns this business who owns this business, etc. but fox, cnn, cbs, abc, etc are all owned by the same "group" of people.
then you'll realize tv is nothing more than programed propaganda.

Answer: The media is not the one doing the portrayal. It would be the muslims who are hate-filled, violent and intolerant.
