I had limewire, but it says connecting, and it never does. So I tried Frostwire, BearShare, Kazaa, and a bunch of others. All of them said connecting, but they never do. It's not my firewall. Any suggestions of what I could try, and that actually works? For free, cause I don't want to pay for it even though I know it's illegal, I don't care. I got my nephew a mp3 player for Christmas and I want to put music on it for him before Christmas.

www.morpheus.com

or, if you have the latest java installed, google Azureus and download it, then go to www.torrentscan.com or www.torrentspy.com and do a search for the music you want

What connection speed do you have? Dial-up, dsl, cable?
anyway go to
http://stationripper.com
download the free program that allows you record online radio similar to the same way you would record to a cassette tape
the program splits the songs into separate mp3's as they play
The up side it is free and you can get a lot of new songs quickly
The down side is you can't pick and choose what songs to record other than clicking stop
and sometimes it will pick up the station identification (a small price to pay for free mp3's)

You'll want to record from shoutcast Just pick the genre that you nephew listens to and click "tune in" If you want to hear the songs as they play click "listen"
I hope this helps you..... ☺
