It's not so much IF... It's really HOW different people drink their tea.
British folks like hot tea with milk and sugar.
Southerners like cold tea with lots of sugar.
Northerners like hot tea with lemon and a little sugar or plain
Health conscious folks often drink herbal teas
Folks in Jordon like a heavily spiced tea
Folks in China like green tea.
Of course, these are just generalizations. But it does give you the idea of what I'm trying to say.

I'm aussie and I drink tea. I went to Iceland for a vacation and everyone there drank tea, rarely saw coffee ay! I went to Italy in Venice and guess what they were drinking tea. I visited a friend in Minnesota and he drank tea with milk. I think it's just the fact that people have stereotypical views that the Brits are only ones to enjoy tea, fish and chips, cricket and have bad teeth and refer to their bottoms as arses.

No, British are not the only people who drink tea.
In Canada tea is a large part of our meals or afternoon snack,as in Engalnd tea at 3o'clock known as "Afternoon Tea" is a big part of most Canadian's day.
Ontario has the largest # of Variety tea drinkers, such as Camomile, Green tea & all other Herbal teas.Iced tea is also drank a lot in Ontario.
Ireland has the highest consumption of tea drinkers in the Western World with each Irish person drinking an average of 1000 tea bags each. Newfoundland(Canada) being the second largest drinkers of regular teas & loose brewing tea.(4 x that ot other provinces in Canada.)
In Newfoundland where I'm from we would buy King Cole tea loose leaves in either regular or Orange Pekoe & put them in a large kettle to make a kettle of tea to stay on the old wood stove for the day & heat it up through the day for a nice cup'a'tea. Later when we got the gas stove we'd buy the tea in bags, with the most popular being Red Rose[by Lipton] & King Cole tea bags. Today the big seller of tea in almost all of Canada, especially Newfoundland is Tetley, as you can purchase it in the leave style stiil & a lot of NFLNDRS. still like to brew their own tea.[In a tea brewing percolater more than on the stove style of days gone by, although some older people still do it the old fashion way.]
England's top tea is Earl Grey Twinnings{Which I love, as I'm a British Newfie} PG,&Brooke Bond & Waitrose Loose tea.
Ceylon Black Tea from Sri Lank[ which I also drink] is popular in all countriies for it's benificial to your health, as is Chineese Green Tea.The best way to drink these 2 tea is black with no added condiments, such as milk, cream & sugar, but if you have a bit of a cold. then add a teaspoon of honey for clearing the digestive track if it's clogged. If you have a sore throat put some lemon by squeezing a wedge of lemon into the tea or a couple of teaspoons of liguid lemon juice in it to ease your sore throat. These home remedies work really well.[Another remedy you can try after coming in from a winter day is a Tea Hot Toddy with either 1/4-1/2 oz rye--& no I'm not advocating drinking it's just a suggestion to warm you up on one of Canada's chilly days.]
Later***Going for Cup'A'Tea & a bite to eat. REBELCAT:>>>>

in iran they hardly have coffee (I don't know if it's changed now) but everyone drinks black tea ( I only heard of milk in tea since i came here) & it used to be generally made with a samovar where you brew tea leaves (no tea bags) but they use more tea bags these days I think.
If we drank coffee, it was Turkish coffee which is really strong &is only drank occasionally.
This was the tradition last time I was there, I don't know if fast pace of life has changed things.
