When I write it I am really saying "i hope you manage to snatch a few moments over the next few days to be yourself, to be truly calm and to appreciate all that you have, especially your familly" We are so busy all the time that we forget how wonderful it is to be alive. You need peace to see things properly eg seeing your children looking at Christmas lights, anything. It can restore you to yourself. Me? I need a lot of restoration, believe me.

No, it means have a happy day on December 25th. It's actually quite a nice thing to say to people, no matter who they are. I don't know why some atheists get so offended by it.
