Is she in nappies still or toilet trained. If possible as much fresh air to the region as her toilet training will allow. Drapolene is good for sore bottoms and if she is still in nappies don't use baby wipes, use damp cotton wool and make sure she is really dry after cleaning her up

Have her bottom clean with cream and don't put a diaper on for a few minutes, "to air out" if not maybe a prescription cream might work. My lil ones had diarrhea and i know what it is like, Just make sure to keep a fresh pamper on everytime she makes a mess, i know it can keep happening, but it helps. If her bum gets too raw the doctor might prescribe a steroid ointment. I hope things work out.

The diaper rash could have turned into a yeast infection. If it isn't improving. If this is the case you will need a prescription from the doctor to get rid of it. Try letting her "air" it out by letting her go to sleep with an open diaper. Soak in a bath of colloidal oatmeal might help also.

Hello q,

Yes, she has a yeast infection in her skin on her diaper area. Very painful!! She needs a prescription cream (Triamcinolone Topical Cream) which should help clear her up very fast. In the mean time, keep her clean and dry. Soak her in some warm water in the tub as often as needed to keep her clean. When wiping try not to rub, use a dabbing motion. Vasoline might help between washings.

Get her to the doctor asap, since it is Christmas weekend, you might need to take her to emergency room. They can give you a prescription there.

Hope she feels better soon!

Good luck.

S

Get a tube of SAVLON 'Antiseptic Cream' and try that. Did you not consult your doctor or nurse with regard to the condition of this child's bottom with the rash. Bath the child with great care and call a doctor right away to attend to the 'totality' of your child's condition before Christmas Day.

try giving her plenty of warm baths with a few drops of lavender oil in it. it's soothing on the skin, and on frazzled nerves ! i was recommended it after giving birth. my son (who's 4 now). he also had the stomach bug from hell when he was 2 years old. another thing i did was to make sure that he wasn't too warm. i let him wander around in a jumper & pants - no trousers. after that, all u can do is make sure she keeps drinking plenty of water, and if it goes on for more than 3 days, get her to the doctor. she might need re-hydration treatment (although u can buy sachets of re-hydration powder from the chemists). hope she feels lots better real soon. poor little thing doesn't want to be ill for when father xmas arrives !

try some balmex or desitin. you can purchase either from any store. it will add a layer of protection to her skin. she is raw from the acidicness of the diarrhea. these creams act like a skin barrier and she will get relief. i pray all works out .
