is there a ristriction on how big you bag can be at the airport?

i need to know if i can take a certain bag on the plane but its really big

There are restrictions on dimensions as well as weight depending on the airline. I would suggest checking the airline's website to see what their requirements are before you head out to avoid paying extra.

There are restrictions for carry ons, and you usually have to pay extra depending on the weight of a bag you check if it's too big.

A major carrier's website or maybe tsa.gov might have the actual measurements. 10 inches by 16 inches by 24 inches (Southwest Airlines - check the link). Not very big.
