uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven." (Mark 13:27). The Lord mentions the "elect" in various passages in the Bible. These "elect" appear to be sinners God has chosen to save from before the world was created (Ephesians 1:3-5). These "elect" also are the heirs of the kingdom of God (James 2:5). The idea of "accepting Jesus into one's heart" appears to be false. Is this the "lie" spoken of in John 8:44?

The elect mentioned there in Mark's Gospel are Angels

Revelation 7:1 - "After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of the earth to prevent any wind from blowing on the land or on the sea or on any tree."

they will be Elected (hence, the "elect") by God to help out during the last times which are coming!

The Ephesians passage is refering to Christians who are reading the bible. it's saying that as the being who guides the universe, God has made it our fate (so to say) that we would be Christians or non-Christians. the word 'predestined' is used to suggest that we were chosen even before the creation of the universe. The passage from James is saying that Christians will inherit the kingdom of heaven.

John 8 verses 42 to 47 are about those who cannot see God in the things Jesus said or in the bible. the lie spoken of is that anybody who sees the evidence for God, but does not see God in the evidence, is being mislead by the Devil

2 Timothy 2:25b-26 - "... God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth, and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will."

Where do you get this stuff from?

John 8:44 was a quote from Jesus, it follows 43 that says,
'Why do you not understand My speech? Because you are not able to listen to My word.

So He has set up a what comes in 44 that says,

'You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do.
He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resourses, for he is a liar and the father of it.

god is the alpha and omega . the begining and the end.
god has been to the begining the middle and the end and all parts between . he has seen how each of us lives he has seen how he resposdend just because he is able to be in all places and times at once does not mean that what you do does not infulance the your outcome as it relates to god. this only means that he god is aware of you know and in the past before you were born and during your life and after your life . what you do know matters just as much now as it does in the past and the future
you can not know the future and you can only know a tiny bit of the past and of the present god however knows the outcome of every card game ever played by anyone does this mean we should stop playing no it just means we better not try playing poker with god .

The devil is the liar.

John 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

Sprinkling salt on our wounds, again.....

Were we elected? How does free will dovetail into pre-selected?

I have no problem with God choosing me because He sees that I would and am and have...chosen Him. He is not restricted by Time.
