I have read the answers you gave regarding the read only, however, when I attempt uncheck the read only box, it will not let me do so. I'm out of ideas, so any help will be appreciated.

If it is a system file, you will not be able to change it unless you also uncheck the system box. It could also be hidden, but then you might have a bit of trouble finding it.

Now, DON'T CHANGE YOUR SYSTEM FILES!!!!

Also, if the file is on read only media (CD, DVD) then you can not change it unless you copy it to your hard drive first.

What file are you looking at you want to change?
