i think there is more to this story then just listed here.
he must be taking those kids because of her drug habit, and the fact that he loves them. he is a big part of their lives, which is a true example of what a father is supposed to do (rather then hiding his money or running over state line).
he can request a CS hearing, which is much faster then a custody hearing. where i am from, they throw the deadbeat in jail, male or female. in any case, all will be well after his court date(s) and the money will be credited in his favor. if she skips the payments, she will go to jail, as it should be.
the man has my respect for standing up for his kids.

You say sheis on drugs. Unfortunately, even judges know that you can't get blood from a stone. She will just put anything she makes up her nose or into her body somehow. He should be grateful he has full custody so thepoor kids don't have to put up with her selfish lifestyle any more, However, I think it would be reasonable for him to stop paying the child support, and put in in a bank acount for after the hearing, and he should probably get child services involved, so those poor babies don't have to go back to her. Women like that tend to use their daughters as a method to earn money for their habits.

He got a shi....lawer in 50/50 custody there is NO child support payment due, that is why so many men opt for that. Now that he has full custody, she DOES have to pay child support no matter what the situation is drugs, no drugs, job, no job it is her duty as a parent. Now you don't tell me where this is happening if it is in California than what I have said is true no matter who has the custody etc. I do not know about other places though

my guess is that the wife has physical custody even though they have them 50/50 he should put in a modification for child support..he can file papers free of change with family court...if he feels the kids are in danger he can call child protection services...if he also notifies the court of the danger his children are in my guess is he will get to court alot quicker..i never heard of there being a 6 month waiting list for custody..usually the courts are pretty quick

My bf's ex wife is supposed to pay child support, half the medical, half the schooling expenses but she has never paid a dime. He has full custody and doesn't pursue the issue because #1-he'll never get it, she is a drug addict, #2-if she ever tries to get custody, it's only in his favor. She never calls, writes, has visited maybe twice in 5 years. It's better for the child to stay with the father.

States differ on how support is handled, I could write pages on how my state works but that may not be your state so it would not be helpful. Your friend should be happy the kids are safe, keep paying the support so he doesn't get thrown in jail. Eventually the system will get straightened out and maybe she will sober up, get a job and help pay for those kids.

She needs to pay some child support. I don't know what the problem is but someone's not doing their job (lawyer or judge). SHe owes child support and he needs it and he ought to be receiving it, he should fight for it bc if it was a woman the man would be paying. It's the same situation.

Because our legal systems are a a joke. You often see movies about the poor single mom, but no one seems to care about the poor single dad. It's a real shame that this has to happen to your friend, it's rough. But it's great that he has taken in his kids under all this; some people just walk away...

Your buddy definately has it tough. When he gets his court date... hopefully the judge will reverse to child support payments... even make her pay him back for the time he has had them full-time.
Good Luck!!
