You don't say how old your puppy is, but I know that we had to have my cocker spaniel castrated because only one testicle dropped. I was advised that if this wasn't done there was a risk of cancer. So If your puppy is still only tiny keep an eye on it but if he is getting on get the vet to check it out.

If your puppy is that young, some breeds don't "drop" until much later. My last boy was 11 months. If, by then, you're concerned, please do see your vet. Retained testicles really do need to be surgically removed. Left inside they can become cancerous. Any lumps along the stomach would concern me though. It's better to feel a bit silly asking your vet what they are, he really will have heard and seen it all. Don't hesitate to have things checked if you're not sure. That's what the vet is there for.

By 6 months, they should be IN the scrotum. There is a muscle that makes the testicles go close to the body or away from the body, but they should ALWAYS be in the scrotum!!! They cannot "retract" them back into their body!!! That is NOT normal!!! If the puppies testicles are not in the scrotum, he need to be neutered, becuae this can he passed on. You should consult your vet about it and have them check them. At 6 months, testicles should not be "along the stomach". You need to have the vet check them out since you may not know what you are looking at.

this is known as a floater he may drop in time or never he will have to be castrated if he is an monorchid...also stop worrying as he will be a normal puppy in every other way except he will produce monorchids if he is one ...so better to get him seen to but wait awhile he may just be a late developer leave it until the dog is about 10 months old then take him to the vet

my dog has two large teste like lumps alongside his willie when he is over excited. I had this checked out at the vets and they are not testicles... They still appear on occasion even now although he has had the snip

Puppies can retract their testicles when they're cold or very excited and playing hard. If both are where they're supposed to be the majority of the time, you don't need to worry.

Our pug had only one drop and had to be fixed. It can cause problems if not fixed. Depending on how old your puppy is, it may just take more time.

You need to take him to the vet as they should be practically down, (at 9 mths they hit puberty). I would get them checked out. ...Its best to be safe than sorry.
