Whatever you do... DO NOT listen to the butt heads that tell you to either bleach it or strip it. You'll ruin a good portion of your hair before you're through.

Anything green based (Anything with the word ASH in the name) Will counteract the brass in the red but won't turn you greenish (like it would anyone without red tones.)

So what I suggest you do is find a dark ash blond or light ash brown. Go darker the first time to make certain that you get the red out (so to speak.) Then lighten gradually with foil highlights.

A dark base will give you a healthier fuller shaft, correct your brass problem and give you a clean slate to start over with.

You may hate it worse than the red to begin with... but it is better than loosing half your hair to a bleach or strip job!

Stripping is for naked dancers... not hair! It is by far, the worst procedure you can do on your hair! Quick results yes... damage is just not worth it!

Red is really hard to get rid of.
You will have to strip the color out, then dye blonde.
I recommend paying a pro--you can do serious damage to your hair with those kinds of harsh chemicals.
