If you have an extra $200 to spend on the G7, go for it. I don't think that the lack of image stablization would be a big issue on the A640, as the lens "only" goes out to an equiv. 140mm, which should be no problem to hand hold at almost any speed.

Otherwise, I kind of like the fact that the A640 can use off-the-shelf "AA" alkaline batteries, if necessary, and the tilt-and-swivel LCD is pretty cool. It opens up new points of view for your photography.

go for SD700/SD800 ...those two are the best with the point and shoot type of camera's and have image stabailization and around 4x optical zoom ..which is 33% more than the normal camera's
