There are many recipes that include wine in the ingredients, but I have never cooked with wine. There is a recipe in my cooking book that I want to try to make- Its rice with mushrooms, the ingredients are butter, chicken broth and white wine. I dont know what kind of white wine to buy, and I am not really a wine drinker, so I dont know much about them. Please recommend a white wine for cooking!!

The rule is usually to cook with a wine that will complement the dish, and never cook with a wine you wouldn't drink. So, if you are going to serve the remainder of the bottle with dinner, try a good, moderately priced Chardonnay. I would try to spend at least $10 for a decent bottle. Try Rosemount Estate Semillon Chardonnay from Australia. Their wines are a very good value for the money. Remember to serve the remainder chilled.

The school of thought is to use a wine you would drink. Well, I'm pretty cheap, so I cook with Target's wine box. It's actually an award winning wine. I use the Chardonnay when the recipe calls for white wine.

well dont buy cooking wine... cooking wine is horrible if your going to cook with wine then buy the real stuff. im not really a big fan of wine either. my mom could probably answer this question better then i can. i think some stores have wine experts so just ask them what kind of white wine is the best for cooking whatever you are going to make and they will probably make a suggestion they are usually pretty good.

according to my old chemestry teacher he says that they make cooking wine with alot of salt i think he said it was and so you cant drink it straight so youd have to cook with it. and my chemestry teacher said that its better to get a regular bottle
