Vertigo or acrophobia (fear of heights).

I have that same feeling sometimes. When I first started driving about 45 or so years, I could not cross a bridge if another car was coming. I can't look out of windows when they are 3 or more stories high though I have no problem flying.

It may be vertigo as I feel as if I am falling or being pulled toward the edge of the roof. I can't stand pictures on television where they show street scenes from the top of the building. I get dizzy and feel as if I am going to vomit.

It is psychologically induced vertigo...a natural fear of falling is the root cause.
