The food, and to some extent the care required, will depend on the type and size of the parrot (talk to the pet shop people or breeder). Maybe you will know what name suits when you get your parrot and know what colour, type and sex it is (also the name might be something to do with the story about how you came to get the parrot or when it first came home etc.). The names you have are good I think eg. Mac, Zac, Perry, Willie, May. Maybe some names that I can think of that might be good for parrots are: Maxie, Bertie, Hughie, Sunny, Joey, Lucy, Bella, Maddy, Ronnie, Sylvester, Puddy (as in Puddy Cat) and Jordie. Good luck.

Ever read the Harry Potter books? Call the bird "Ravenclaw". The house colors are blue and bronze, and their mascot is a bird. Or, since blue and gold kind of remind me of "first prize," call it Prize! These names work for both a male or a female parrot.

Some other more feminine names: Sapphire or Goldenrod, due to coloring.

Have fun with your bird!

Usually anything with no more than 2 syllables e.g.Bluey, Goldie,
Mack or Mac. They are good mimics and will learn to say their name over a period of time.
You could go really ambitious and call him(?) Mr Macawber (after Charles Dickens' Mr Micawber who used to drink a toast 'to something turning up'.) I'm understood that males learn quicker than females. Nice bird, beautiful plumage!! (Monty Python's 'Parrot sketch')

It took me a couple of weeks to name our birds I take some time and think about the bird's personality and actions... Our bird would hang from the top of it's cage and dance like he was jazzersizing... it was the cutiest thing his name ended up being Jazzy. Our other bird has many names, Mr. Beaks, Fruitloop, and Pretty bird. We mostly call him Pretty bird because of his beautiful colorations and the fact he is so cuddly and adorable. Good Luck

Look and see where Macaws are originally from.........then look for names of people from that country. Example, Africia, look at africian names and their meanings, then after you get used to the birds personality you can pick a name that soots him. Bingo!
