I asked a question earlier and the is what it was. "Why in a universe so old and big, do we allow our thoughts to be so narrow and small? Tell me what you think"? And this is one of the answers I got I have pasted it below. It just proves the point I was trying to make.Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but considering how big the universe is, we dont even know how many stars, how many galxies, or even how many more species of animals, plants, or insects we havent disovered on earth yet. I mean we just decided pluto wasnt a planet a month or two ago,So here is what he said, tell me what you think. (" See... the probability of a god existing is extremely low. That basically means a god existing has as much chance as existing as the flying spaghetti monster, purple unicorns, Thor, Aphrodite, etc. All have like .01% of being real. If they WERE real - I'd imagine the only plausible explanation is that they're in a parallel universe.")

I don't think it proves that much of a point. You seem to be referring more to things we haven't found yet that have a fair chance of being out there because we have found things that are similar. We have no clue what's going on way out in the far reaches of the universe. I agree, but we can guess about some based on other things.

That person that answered your question is referring to things which people have claimed to have 'found' already and that they 'know' certain things exist but they have no reference point other than human legend/their own mind. If anything, you are saying there are things out there we don't know about yet and that other person is saying that it doesn't mean everything we can imagine must exist.

There is a chance there is a god out there but based solely on the type of 'evidence' we have on earth (religious text, myths), the probability is low that it is what we think it is. You cannot tell me there is no God but you also can't tell me he is definitely there.

I don' think it does prove a point. Merely because I don't know what the answerer was basing his theory on. Anyone read Stephen Hawking's book a Brief History of Time? In this book he actually states that the chances of our universe alone coming into existence are slim to none, never mind the actual existence of sentient life.

This may be proof that there is a God that created the universe

No. God has no limits. This is simply putting a limit on God. Just because you cant fathom God creating the entirety of space, because you dont know all about it or how much of it there is, doesnt mean He didnt. Have you ever thought that maybe God created such a vast thing to show how powerful He really is?

a higher power exist, like i stated in another question life is too complex. if life had happened by chance, then we would know about EVERTHING. all the planets, galaxies, stars, universes, and all animals that exist because, probability (being that only the numbers can go so far) everything would be known. all the chances would be found out and identified. feel me?

Well, I really dont like that answer considering that i believe in God. Heaven and Hell are both really sort of a parallel universes, God isnt.
God is real.

He's funny. He is not mature in his "unbelief" even. Suffice to say "Oh, you mean like a "supernatural universe" parallel to ours?" Does that make him agnostic, if thats all he "packing?" It might.

And no, it doesn't answer your question at all. But, it may prove the point that he -should- be agnostic. He just missed it entirely...

well, it proves that there are cynics amongst us.... but we already knew that... besides i think a healthy dose of skepticism is a good thing, otherwise we'd be gullible and be a people without conviction. but we must consider that the step from skepticism to narrowmindedness is deliberate. where one continually chooses not to listen to/ debate with/ teach/ learn from people who have a different opinion.

in response to your friend: to know the mathematical probability of God existing and still to believe in him is amazing and goes to show the capacity of the human mind. some of us have minds capable of choosing their beliefs on things other than mathematical probability.

Thor and Aphrodite ARE gods, doofus.

As for the rest of it, it doesn't even make sense, let alone a point, let alone prove a point.

I believe the concept of God was created so that people can explain the unexplainable. People don't know why something happens, they say God did it. It's extremely annoying, but to each his own, right?

i think that this person obviously doesnt see the evidence of God all around him. it is in people, in the air we breath everywhere says that God created the Heavens and the earth, not just by chance.
