As I have been on my spiritual journey I find that the further I go on my spiritual quest the less I am interested in Earthly pursuits. Is it possible to be spiritual while still wanting a large house, big cars, and sex? These two things seem incompatable.

For a long time I have always thought that being mortal stops us from truly understanding the nature of life death, and the universe.
The thought of a human being trying to understand everything in the universe is comparable to a germ on the back of your hand trying to understand you and what you have done today.
However, saying that, I do think that the life we have been given to be enjoyed. If you like cars, why not indulge yourself? All we can do in this life is just be the best person we can and enjoy oursleves and hope for the best!

Well, you just contradicted yourself. You are less interested in earthly pursuits, but at the same time you want to be spiritual and have a large house, big cars and sex?? That doesn't make any sense. To answer your original question, I don't think so. A spiritual being is one who is just a spirit, no soul or body, therefore participating in terrestrial life would be virtually impossible.

The key to all this is "cause and effect".
The degree to which you can be at cause as a spiritual being operating in the material universe.
There is a big difference between self determined create and playing the game you choose causatively and other determined effect.
Is the material universe controlling you and dictating the game you are playing ?
Or are you able to control and dictate it?
Life is a game, there are freedoms barriers and purposes.
You either choose to play a game knowingly, or the game plays you.
Acquiring large amounts of material stuff in itself isn't the purpose but it might be part of the game.
Same for sex, it has a purpose in the survival of the game, but
without that alignment the pleasure fades.
Pleasure is the reward for pro survival activity that assists in the game of life.
You could I suppose choose to withdraw from the game, but
hey , not much fun.
Any spiritual journey should not involve loosing your "spirit of play!"

Just sit on a rock and think and feel, you must FEEL in order to be spiritual in your human form. Jesus needed to become man. If you are only interested in spirit you have to have no breath of life in you, nothing comes without choices while living.God made you to be creative, Ecclesiastes tells us "Of making many books there is no end, and much study is wearisome to the flesh.Ecc.12:12

Sexuality is not contrary to the spiritual. The rest can follow from searching for Heaven. To what extent you allow them into your life, or give them away, really shows were your heart is.
Mankind is necessarily body and soul. Insomuch as our earthly nature give us emotions and so forth, we decide how to act on them, as they reflect not just the interaction of man, but of soul and body, of Heaven and Earth, if you will.

You can't cling to materialist desires and pursue the spiritual path. Spiritual awakening only occurs when one rejects the trappings of materialism, which in western society isn't always easy.
