Specifically Jamaica though. Would I be able to find decent apartments there? What about the nightlife? Clubs, parties?

I'm a single African American woman looking to move to NYC and have fun.

There are decent apartments everywhere in Queens. As far as nightlife, there's a lot in Astoria and Long Island City... LIC is pretty cool and is kind of like a cheaper mini-Manhattan.

i lived in Jackson heights and east elmhurst, both are good places too live but rents for a studio are about 800 to 1000 dollars that's not including utility's. Astoria has alot of Greeks and Albanians, flushing is a good place too live too, it has a lot of orientals of different types. jackson heights has a lot of illegal hispanics. the trains and bus's are great in queens and its only 45 min from nyc. bye kiddo

I worked in Jamaica and it has nice and tough parts. be careful. It is not really the city, but the LIRR will get you there in minutes. Try Forest Hills- its a lot nicer and closer and COOLER!!!!
