I received a box of individually wrapped taffy pieces, sealed in the plastic. I want to regift it, but I don't know how long I have.

I think regifting is fabulous. Salt Water Taffy should be good for at least a year from the making, depending on how it's stored, it can dry out and get too hard or it can get moldy. If there is a date of making on it or an expiration date, pay attention to it, but you shouldn't have any problem with it any time soon.

It depends on how hard it is. Salt should preserve it for quite a while.

They may get gooey if you are in a damp area but they do not spoil. In a dry area they get hard.
