You know what, I had something akin to that last summer - in fact, my whole right side went numb for a couple of days and it was the freakiest thing. I went to the ER because it had started as a pressure-cuff kind of feeling, but I was dismissed with a "pooh-pooh" and a $350 bill!

I went to my doctor, and he said that sometimes a person has a different kind of migraine where it just affects your nerves on one side of your body or another (no pain - just the numbness - don't remember the name of it). I wouldn't have answered to your question but you had mentioned the migraines and it seems akin to what was wrong with me.

I was taking Ortho Evra (the birth control patch) at the time, so he did take me off of that, thinking it could have also been a little blood clot that just passed, so if you're on hormonal BC that also might be a trigger...I am not a doctor, just a 22-year-old woman who seemed to have been in your boat. Sorry to hear about the eye problems, too. :( :(

This could be any number of things, and some of them are far more dangerous than are others.

Please see your family doctor and ask to see a neurologist. This could also be a circulatory problem in your neck, but a neurologist will check for that, as it can cause a stroke. It's also possible that these episodes are TIA's, which are mini-strokes. TIA's can lead to a serious stroke.

Whatever you do, don't stop asking questions, but ask them of your doctors. Don't stop until you have not only answers but management tools as well.
