Of course.
Not to say, that their food is not good. I am feeding my 5 dogs, 2-16, only on fresh food.
Another important anti animal cruelty site is:
http://www.shac.net
Keep up the good work, and post your question till everyone gets it.
Merry Christmas!

I hate the thought of cruelty to animals. I looked over the information. I didn't see anything newer than 2003. PETA has not been 100% honest in their actions, however, seeing that the USDA has also been involved adds further credibility to the problem.
I did find this..
"The company is currently in the process of validating a non-animal test method called “IDEA” that it says should be ready by the end of 2006."
As a breeder/show I strive to feed the best food to my dogs. It is beyond sad that Iams did these experiments but it also seems to me that the pressure that the USDA and Peta are putting on the company are paying off and the company has been making big changes over the last few years. I hope they continue to do what's right for animals and hope that all unnecessary testing ends.
My thoughts are that Iams is not alone, they are owned by a bigger company that supplies tons of other products.
I can't believe Iams is the only company that has had this problem. I know of another food that is related to Iams that has an exceptionally good reputation. (I am not naming names).
Should people not buy Iams? I don't know. (Quality wise, you could do worse, you could do much better). Can you guarantee that no other dog food companies do the same thing?
I want to know that the food I feed my dogs is safe. I want my pregnant females to get the best nutrition without worrying that there could be some bad side effects.
Let's support laws that support the humane treatment of animals, reward companies that treat their animals humanely.

MJ is right PETA is a bad organization. They support all kinds of anti pet laws. I dont know about that one site, but you really need to look at a few different sources before you come to conclusions. Just think about it...If that was true I think that a lot of newsmedia outlets would be all over a story that sensational. Also, the first thing that I noticed when I went to that site was the "donate now" link. What better way to raise some money than to have a website like that. Why dont you just stick to what we know for sure. Iams is terrible food so that is reason enough not to feed it to your pet.

Woohoo - here we go again!
What credible proof do you have?
That is a Peta site & Peta is on the US government's terrorist watchlist so I don't think they are very credible. Plus PETA people are either seriously mislead or obnoxious zealots. But I do love their nude protests!
Please visit this alternative site - http://www.petakillsanimals.com/
You talk about having an open mind - do you? Why do you accept criminals opinions (peta officials)?

don't experience undesirable, bypass over sunshine. I fed Iams eukanuba too. After performing some study on meals, i stumbled on it has a lot of detrimental elements. that is excellent to bypass for the meals which have fantastic meat, no with the help of goods (you at the on the spot are not extremely confident what you get at the same time as it says this...a large number of junk) low grains and in case you bypass for nutrition with grains, bypass for both brown rice, oatmeal or flaxseed. Wheat and corn at the on the spot are not good forms of grain for a canines. canines are carnivores, and also you want to feed a nutrition that matches what their digestive equipment is designed to digest at the same time as out interior the wild. you also favor to say faraway from meals with preservatives. a useless ringer for most those who favor to devour in good structure, we favor to feed our canines in good structure. Edit: Jennifer listed the elements....definite, the first element is chiken, yet all the different elements (besides the junkie with the help of goods) are grains. in case you upload all of it up...your canines is eating extra grain than meat.

I don't feed Iams OR Science Diet anyway. They contain nasty animal/meat by-products. There are tons of healthier and better options out there than these "vet-approved" brands.

LOL!!!
Do YOU know that their 'proof' was shown to be doctored and false YEARS ago? You'd think they would be embarrassed, but the AR's have no shame, and sadly, it still seems to be working in their silly war on IAMS.
Do YOU know that the AR groups goal is to end ALL pet ownership (including 'fluffy' on your couch) and that they use half-truths and outright LIES in their no more pets agenda?
Do YOU know that PeTA kills almost 90% of the dogs they 'rescue' (many of which are stolen or gotten by LIEING) while the shelter up the road from PeTA manages to adopt out almost all their animals?
Do YOU know that the animal rights uses their donations mostly for fundraising and anti-dog legislation, very little helps any actual animals?
Do you know it isn't JUST PeTA, but also hSUS, IDA, BF, DDAL, SHAC (can't believe someone posted a link to them)? They ALL want to remove animals from our homes and pastures. ALL OF THEM!!! PERIOD!!! NO EXCEPTIONS!!!
If you love animals, as I do, they are NOT your friends!!!
"mj: You probably believe that animal abuse and torture is OK. You do not have enough of an open mind to understand what Peta stands up for. I'm sure you support the war as well....."
Of course I don't think animal abuse is ok, we have laws against abuse and I support them fully.
I don't think one has to be gullible and naive in order to have an open mind. I have an open mind but there is something to be said for using your brain and not just blindly believing what you are told by others.
If YOU believe you and I should not be allowed to have pets, then go ahead and support these groups. I LOVE my animals and can't imagine life without them, so *I* will continue to fight to be able to continue having my beautiful Hounds on my couch. I understand COMPLETELY what these groups stand for, you however, DO NOT!!! Did you READ at the links I sent you? Did you learn ANYTHING or is your mind completely brainwashed and closed to the truth???
My suggestion to YOU is, if you don't like having animals and want to support the groups that feel the same, just don't have any, but keep your mitts off MY Hounds!!!
And nope, NEVER supported the war, I am VERY firmly democrat/libertarian and vehemently dislike the current administration! And YOU must be republican and a fan of the current admin, seeing as you seem to think it is perfectly FINE that the public is lied to be the AR groups!
Bad M - "Peta is on the US government's terrorist watchlist so I don't think they are very credible"
Good point. The AR's are the biggest domestic terrorist threat, SHAC probably the MOST watched. Lets all go to them for credible information! LOL!
"How are we to know that YOUR websites are true?
You can START by reading the quotes directly from their mouths! I have SEEN their lies, up front and PERSONAL!
"The government calls PETA terrorists because they don't want the truth about the way humans treat animals today uncovered!"
If that were the case, then why would they be supporting the AR groups? WHy would they be going right to the liars for guidance in lawmaking? THEY have been duped just as the public has!
"Treating animals like they are things makes them too much money!"
Then, if that is the case, WHY were they trying to push PAWS? The bit of money they make from breeders isn't much. The government is in THICK with hSUS, they have bought quite a few politicians, Santorum especially! They CONTRIBUTE to their campaigns!
"By the way, why don't you take a look at what PETA has done for animals."
Like WHAT???
They KILL 90% of all the animals they 'rescue', while the shelter up the road adopts out ALMOST ALL! What do you think PeTA built those huge freezers at their HQ's FOR???
They lie of good homes to get animals away from people and sometimes just STEAL them, and they then KILL them! Are you aware they currently have a lawsuit for doing just this? They even lied to a Vet to get a litter of kittens from him, and then KILLED them! KILLED BABIES!!! THREW them in a dumpster like SO MUCH GARBAGE! Dogs, cats, and they have been doing this in that city for MONTHS! If YOU want to support those kinds of people, GO AHEAD! I LOVE animals too much to support the animal hating ARs!
Are you also aware that hSUS is under investigation in Louisiana for misapropriation of funds during Katrina? They took in 30 million and didn't spend hardly any of it? They DID hire another lawyer to help pass more anti-animal laws, likely paid off some politicians with it as well! If *I* had donated, and my donations were used for those purposes instead, I would be pissed! Some of the other small, independant rescues/people are angry for hSUS actions during Katrina as well. All hSUS people were mostly doing was trotting around in front of the cameras and giving orders, leaving the REAL animal lovers to do the work! hSUS mainly wanted to just euthanize the dogs! The big truckload of pit bull type dogs they took was never found (odd how they could lose a whole TRUCKLOAD of dogs), and I am sure they killed them as soon as they took them.
If YOU want to support the animal hating ARs, go ahead! The whole animal rights thing is one huge SCAM and it is sad that the animal loving public is so brainwashed and blind to the truth! The inability to THINK CRITICALLY is what is wrong with this country, and NOT just when it comes to the ARs!!! People are JUST as easily duped when it comes to the government, particularily the current administration! They just blindly believe whatever they are told as if they were SHEEP!!!
