what does it really mean to "care" about someone? you hope they don't get hurt in any way....well i wouldn't want anyone out there to get hurt, so what does it mean to care about someone in particular?
me and this guy have been on and off, and i'm told that he really does care about me. but what does that mean, it's not like we go out and he holds the door open for me or anything like that. we rarely go out together. so what does it mean to care about someone?

good question! Hmm...maybe to particular favor you over others? yeah, he doesn't want anyone to get hurt, but maybe not you in particular. If a building was burning down and you were there among others, he'd save you first because he cares about you in particular. Caring about someone means you think about them and want the best for them, more than just general welfare.

basically, if you care about someone you have some feelings for them. you are always there for them through the good time and the bad times. If you know someone this person doesnt know or something then you tell them you dont keep secrets from them or anything. your basically just a really good friend. You guys have been on and off. and thats probley a sign that you guys are better off friends and thats a good thing good luck with everything . just be careful!

Damn , I've never thought about that... when someone tells you they care, it's like ok cool. However, you're right, no one in the world should be getting hurt or being badly treated-you can care for EVERYONE & ANYONE (even without knowing them).
I suppose it's not as good a thing as everyone thinks when you're into someone & they say they care.
Caring about someone, I suppose, can be held to each person's thoughts & feelings.

look caring about someone doesn't mean he has to open the door for you and all that, maybe he cares about you, but doesn't know how to be a good boyfriend, but talk to him and tell him that he is not SHOWING you that he really cares about you that much although i am pretty sure he does he just doesn't show it.Well, hope you solve your problem, hope my advice helped.

caring don't mean for some one to take you out or open a car door---------------caring for some one is to be there at all times if you need them if your sick,sad,happy,lonely,when you call he or she will be there they don't have excuses that's what caring is hope this helps
