Education! You have to have the towns police force coordinate with schools in the area and teach kids at an early age about the dangers of drug abuse. The health effects, precisely. My town started educating their kids about drug use from the ages of Kindgergarten, all the way through sixth grade.

For a short-term solution, propose more legislation to make drug laws tougher. Community events and other events designed to bring the town together could strengthen relationships; drugs are an escape, we have to create a world in which people don't want to escape from.

Faith-based organizations are also helpful in trying to mobilize communities to combat the drug problem. Just create awareness.

The town doesn't have a drug problem. The people using drugs do. The town may have a crime problem related to drugs.

Enact and Enforce the drug laws of Singapore. Any one caught using or in possession of "use" amounts of drugs is automatically sent to a one year drug rehab system. Anyone caught selling or transporting "sales" amounts of drugs is hung.

That way every person who gets into trafficking drugs is killed and all users have the drugs purged from their systems taught the dangers of drug use. If you look at the crime statistics in Singapore you will see they have very little drug related crime. They also do not allow idiots to spout pro drug poison.

Amen, solly..

Legalize and regulate the drug sources so you can take the profits out of the hands of criminals and put it in public coffers. The taxes can be put towards rehabilitation and educational services for addicts. The money police forces will save by not arresting and imprisoning people for simple posession or recreational use will also make for a nice chunk of change they can put towards other more useful projects.

Hey twin2Jerry when you're referring to the lines that separate countries, the word is spelled borders, not boarders. Taking an extra second to click the little spell check button would've saved you the embarrassment!
