I think you're right though, dumb "stoners" were dumb before they started. While there is some research claiming that pot affects short-term memory, the studies were done using non-smokers as subjects, so all one can conclude is that *starting* smoking pot will temporarily affect your memory. It is my experience that an experienced smoker will have no more trouble than a control group when it comes to memory. Furthermore, "motivation" and "laziness" are difficult to study because they are complex psychological patterns, and good luck finding a control for that study. In my experience, it actually increases motivation and ambition. As for libido, sh*t, she might be right about that. However, I will not complain about a lowered sperm count, as I have no need for viagra, and with less sperm I have a lower chance of creating an unwanted child. That's a good thing.
Some studies have given smokers a radio shot to monitor what happens in your brain after smoking. While the drug has many "depressant" effects, button-holing it into the "depressant" category is misleading. It actually stimulates frontal lobe activity, which is where higher-order processing, or executive thought occurs. Therefore, it can actually increase the amount of thinking a user does. This gets back to your question: a dumb smoker is not going to be very good at thinking to begin with, so it will just produce typically "stupid stoner thoughts." An intelligent user will continue to have intelligent thoughts.

I agree with you somewhat, there really isn't any known ill affects of marijuana use......(I say free your mind and the rest will follow.) Ask yourself this, if it was bad for you, some Dr.'s wouldn't prescribe it for other medical problems. I believe it really depends on the person using it. I also believe that how marijuana is grown could be what harms people. pesticides etc. Now if it's organic that's a whole different ball game.

they say it affects your short term memory...I'm sorry what was the question? Oh yeah about pot and your mind. Now, I;'m sorry what was...
Just kidding I hardly ever tried it.
I think it does affect short term memory tho'. Even smokers and defenders of it, tend to agree with that. theoretically of course that could affect your studies.
as fr as other areas of the brain, probably little affect and won't make you dumb per se.

no, american government is just dumb and they bash it into our brains. it is only considered a bad thing because of some of the side effects, "lazyness, short term memory"....but it doesnt permantly damage you, like alcohal or crack.
its amazing how the police and the government are trying to bust people for weed when theres so many meth labs out there.
Its so unbeleivabley pathetic.

It hinders your judgement, and slows your progress. It's medicinal values may be argued, but it is an illegal substance. I know a few dumb people who have never touched a drug in their whole life, but I also know a few who could be alot better off if they didn't use.

it kills brain cells, & to much, too often makes you paranoid.
ur life, but don't smoke everyday as I started 2 do that & it gets out of hand. maybe occasionally when with frinds for fun,
don't let it turn into ahabit b4 it's too late, don't let it control you, it's no joke, it ruins lives & it can make you addicted & misreable, it might even lead to other stronger drugs (if you're not careful) & maybe even lead to delusions & hallucinations....I don't know do what u want

do some research on this one. i believe america is the only country where cannabis is considered really illegal but i will tell you it does kill brain cells and decrease your motivtian and ambition. also....and this might strike a cord....over time your libido will suffer. sure there's viagra but who wants to do that??
