I have got astigmatism and i recently got a trial pair from USA. And yes it was prescribed. Now when i tried it on, everything was blurry especially things that were far away. And it was moving while blinking. Do toric lens have to be fitted by the doctor the first time? I heard toric lens have special markings. Is there anything else that can be done coz i cant go back all the way to usa for that.

I, too, have astigmatism and have used contacts for many years. Take the trial pair to a optician (they sell eyeglasses too) and have them check them over as not all contact lenses are equal nor will they meet your specific astigmatism requirements. You may want to visit an optometrist and get a prescription so that you get the correct contacts prescribed.

I've been cl's for 15 years & had aprescritopn from just over a year ago & nobody (not even online) would sell me lenses with that prescritopn & every optician I went to told me u need a new presc. every year & depnding on optician pay anything between £20-40(even if ur presc. expires in November for example & you try 2 order lenses in July they won't give you a 6 month's supply!! they also told me they have to fit me a lens, go back in 2-4 weeks to see if they suit me.
especially that u have astigmatism, you need to see an optician.
some opticians accept NHS(do a search on google) & they take the cost off. what i did was get the presc., not buy the lenses from the opticians as they charge way 2 much, then order them online as it's much cheaper. these are the cheapest i found (see links)
shop around for opticians prices for a presc. as some charge alot more.

so what I'm trying to say, esp. if you have astigmatism, is u need to have aproper check up & a contact lens presc.

I hope I haven't confused you but please ignore my advise if it sounds unsuitable!

try washing it again & dont touch the part which u will apply on your eye after u washt it , ,, on applying it , open your eyes as wide as u can , catch the outer surface of the lens with your right index ,lower your lower lid with your right middle finger & raise your upper eye lid with your left middle finger ,, look downwards & now apply the lens with the index ,, keep your eye open for a second to let the lens take its right position on your cornea ,, now try blinking & see how it works

When my contacts are new they are always blurry, and i put into my container and flush them with solution, and that usually helps a lot.
