Well, it's going to sound crazy, but what would you do if they got sprayed by a skunk?

Tomatoes.

If that doesn't work, call your local vet and see what they have to say.

Like I said on another one of your questions. I've rescued a total of ten animals. I've gone through IT ALL!!

Please do not use any laundry detergent or anything not specifically made for an animal unless a vet tells you to do so (it could be deadly to do so!). There are specially made liquids that get rid of the smell of urine out of carpets, go to the store and see if any of these can be used on animals. I do know there are moist towelettes made especially for cats, try cleaning the kittens with these towelettes. Try using these two or three times a day. In the meantime, feed the kittens a good dry kitten food if they are old enough to eat dry, and get them healthy. Once they are healthy, they will start cleaning themselves. Be carefull about bathing them, it's not good to bathe cats especially too often and esp with soaps and detergents that are not made for animals. You could also call your local Humane society and see what they recommend.
BTW, don't ever give your cats medicine unless you know they have a problem that requires that type of medication, like for worms, fleas, etc. I noticed someone recommended that and it is NOT a good idea. If you do medicate an animal, get a vets permission and recommendation of medications to use and how to administer them, otherwise you could kill your animal.
If the people you got those kittens from have other animals and you suspect the animals are not being properly taken care of, then you can anonymously turn them in to the authorities.

Never use laundry detergent on animals as it will stick to their skin which can cause rashes and itching. Spraying any animal with Febreeze is also not recommended.

Using a solution of 1 part liquid dish-washing detergent (preferably Dawn) and 4 parts warm water, create a washing solution. Be careful to keep soap out of their eyes. Using a wash cloth, be sure to bring the fur upwards....don't stroke downwards all the time as the odour is close to the skin, thus bring the fur upwards towards their heads. Wash them twice with this soapy solution - rinsing well with warm water between washings.

As the 3rd and final rinse: Mix 1/2 cup of white vinegar with 5-6 cups of warm water. Vinegar absorbs odour and won't cause their skin any irritation.

Hope this helps.

Are they Long haired or short haired cats?....unfortunately theres not much you can do but give them lots of TLC and bathe them daily as they need it. The kittens have been traumatised and well depend on you to rehabillitate them...once they get used to being outside of a box, and you showing there where they're litter box is, it should be ok...but patience is the key here.

I don't know if this will help as I haven't gotten to try it yet myself, but according to the website it's completely natural and doesn't use ammonia or bleach or anything like that. Maybe it's worth a try? www.PetOdorRemoval.net. I'd be interested to hear if it works for you on your problem. I've got puppies that are messing up my apartment and will be trying the solution in the next day or so.

Don't use soap for clothes, like Tide. Wash them with a nice shampoo. The smell will have to go, eventually. If it doesn't, perhaps tehy stink from inside, like their tummis. Give them medication fordeworming and good quality food. Be patient, they will become excellent smell-free cats in a few weeks for sure.
