Try to eat healthy foods (vegetables, fruits) instead of junk food and work out at home. You can get an exercise tape and work out to it or do some sit-ups and jumping jacks on your own. You don't have to join a gym to lose weight. Oh yeah and drink a lot of water! Take it one day at a time and if you crave something you can have a little bit of it. Instead of 2 pieces of cake try 1, instead of 1 helping of potatoes, try 1/2. You can do it!!

I don't know how old you are talking about, but when I was 17 I went from 190 to 125 by watching what I ate and riding my bike like a fiend. I usually spent at least an hour and a half out riding every day. I guess a stationery bike could give you the same effect, but probably wouldn't be as much fun.

A recent study revelaed that exercise alone will not help America's young lose weight. The only option is to combine better food choices with increased physical activity. A sport is a good idea- swimming is low impact if they are significantly over weight, as is a simply long brisk walk.
Food choices are important- smaller servings eaten more frequently- lower amounts of simple carbs- so whole wheat bread as opposed to doughnuts, healthier snacking (carrot sticks instead of chips) and lower amounts of sugar help)
However research shows that just one or the other is not going to work.

Try playing sports more often. Fun exercise still counts!
If your parents allow it, get a dog. Knowing you have to walk it twice a day will get you off the couch and get you going.
Also you have to watch what your eating. If you crave sweets, try fruit. Add some peanut butter or other form of protein to it.
This way you can stabilize your blood sugar levels.
This will help you from craving more sugar.
Lots of water and stay away from sweet drinks like pop and high calorie juices.
