Had two lab urine tests now, and both were negative (Tues and fri), though I had a positive hpt on thursday pm. My mom says that when she was pregnant w/ my sister she was negative for 2 months. My HMO (Kaiser Permanente) won't do a blood test w/o a dr order, but I can't get an appt until almost February. I'm over a week late, my breasts feel like they've been punched by Mike Tyson, and I'm queasy when my stomach is half empty. I'm an absolute beeyatch from hormones, and I know what pregnancy feels like cuz this is my second and it's a cookie-cutter of my first one so far. I'm so frustrated!

Abby- I haven't had a chance to see a dr yet. That's part of the problem... I can't get in until almost Feb unless I get a positive, then I get booked for a prenatal screening within a week... I want to go to the dr next week, and I know about the fluctuation in hcg levels, but I can't get a positive lab result.

Oh, and Abby, I am TRYING to get pregnant. I'm a well-educated 30-yr old woman, married with one child and trying to have another. My concerns arise from wanting to get into prenatal care as soon as possible. Don't automatically assume that everyone on here is an irresposnible teen-aged girl... I was on the pill and switched to an IUD, and had it removed ON PURPOSE to get pregnant.

YES! I had taken 2 at home tests, both were negative. I even went to have the lab do a urine test which was also negative. They sent me for a blood test which came up positive :)

You may well BE pregnant. Since you and your husband are trying for it, I hope you are. You might have to wait til the test comes up positive before you can get prenatal care, though. Good luck with that!

that is way too quickly to objective. you have a small threat of having a favorable 10 days after having intercourse yet no longer 7. Wait till that is been 2 weeks. in case you haven't any longer gotten your era take yet another attempt. in case you get your era then no you at the instant are not pregnant.

I had 6 false negative pregnancy tests because I had a bladder infection which messes up the results!

Well don't be fusterated because you are pregnant I can feel it. If your mom went through the same thing then maybe it has become heredity and it was passed down to you. That is my best guess. Good Luck

Yes! In the beginning of pregnancy the hormones are fluctuating therefore it is possible to have false negatives. It happened to me. I'm surprise your ob-gyn has not explain this to you. Have you ask the ? specifically ? Based on my own experience you have to be very specific with ??? in order to get specific answers. I tend to do my own research than ask the ? to different physicians than I make my own conclusions. No offense but start using reliable contraception after this one. Be responsible.
