I have been with my b/f for two years. I really like him but there is a slight problem. I am falling for his best friend. I really want to say yes when he asks me out(he asked b4 and I said no, but he says he still wants to), but I don't want to hurt my b/f two days b4 christmas. WHAT DO I DO?? Is it wrong to date his best friend if I break up with him?? Will it ruin their friendship??
I would hate for him to hate his friend. I really want to date his friend. Should I date his friend??

Cheating is never the answer. I would say yes... this will ruin the friendship. But if you are not happy, then staying in this relationship is not a good idea. Cheating on your boyfriend with his best friend is not the answer. If anything, you will hurt your boyfriend even more. Is that was you want? If you decide to go with his best friend, make sure you realize that there is no going back.

Ashlea, your timing couldn't be worse. Here's a few questions to help you decide what to do. Two years is a long time to be bf/gf. That's solid and good and true. You have a history which makes a decision to change all the harder. I assume it has been good. Or has it begun to run out of gas naturally or due to your bf's best friend?
In any event your boyfriend (unless he is a saint) is going to lose a friend. But his friend bears half the responsibility and still wants to date you. I think that the guy who wants to date you should ask his best friend. That takes you out of the firing line for the time being.
Initially, you were right to say no.

O.K. No it is not alright to date your bf best friend whether you break up with him or not. It is very trashy ! Put the shoe on the other foot would you want your bf dating your best friend after dumping you. Think About it ! The only reason why you like the best friend more is probably because you must like danger, drama or are sneaky. Grow UP!

DO NOT DO IT. For one this could be a set up from your boyfriend. Now even though you are having trouble not thinking of your bf friend in that way do not make anything out of this. Yes it will ruin their friendship even though your bf friends seems not to care. Now if you and your bf were already broken up then I would say yes go for it. Besides what does this say about your bf friend if he is willing to loose his friend and backstab him. If you want to break up with your bf you should not wait untill you find someone else you should have did it before. Never replace one boyfriend with another. You should break up with them first then find someone. Plus alot of people with think your a whore for doing this to your boyfriend and guys will not have respect for you, now they may sleep with you but never have anything serious if your bf friend dumps you. Trust me this will ruin your reputation and it will be hard to find a guy who is serious about you after this.

NO. You SHOULDNT date his best friend. How would you like it if HE dated YOUR best friend? How do you THINK he's going to feel about that? Think it's not going to hurt him?
And his "best friend" is a loser. He's obviously asking you out & trying to get with you behind his friend's back. Why would you want to even bother with someone like that?

No. He is wrong to ask you out. You would be wrong to accept. Your current relationship needs to run its course before you ever entertain this relationship. Somehow I think you want someone to affirm the notion so you will feel better when you do it anyway.

Don't be in such a hurry......have a heart....wait until after the holidays. Break off with the current BF first and then date the other guy.

It is better to feel bad for something you did than for something you didn't do. From your words i know you will do it whatever i tell you. Do it as fast as you can then, enjoy it as much as you can, ruin their friendship everything will be forgotten. Life is short. Wrong decisions are everywhere...

Your boyfriend has 2 problems.
He has a best friend who really isn't his best friend.
He has a girlfriend who would rather date the best friend.
Your boyfriend needs to reevaluate the people he cares about in his life.
At this point....do whatever you want...it doesn't really matter.
