When one searches for the truth as in the bible one can become very confused about who Jesus is. It is so divided amongst Christians. Even his name. I would like to hear a Jews point of view. I want to know who am I? Is there a God? How do I fit into the big picture, How do I come to know the truth with out being so confused.. I asked a question to a Christian they look for fault be fore they answer, in some cases not all I might say. The Christians who seem to be ok with me are the more liberal ones who do not judge before they look. I still would like to learn from a Rabbi things about the Bible, cause the did write it and seem to so far answer all my questions. I feel liberated and free not to be caught up in the dogma Christians tell me I need to know to be saved.. I can not find a Rabbi to teach me.

Look for a Reformed Synagogue (spelling). You can always do a search online as well.

A Rabbi most likely will not tell you who you are. I'm sure he'd tell you there is a God (that's what Rabbi's do, teach the meanings behind the Torah). But I doubt he will tell you how you fit in the big picture. He's not a fortune-teller. He's a teacher.

To answer your first question, Judaism has always existed as one religion amongst many. Christianity had the great misfortune of being adopted by the Roman Empire, who were set on world domination.

There are many books and websites with Jewish teachings and opinions on the questions you ask. The information is there, but we don't push it in people's faces. And most Christians assume that they know what our texts mean so they don't bother to engage with us.

Central to Judaism is the struggle with these questions. We don't give fixed answers, we have a 4000 year long debate on them that you can join. It is the obligation of every Jew to seek the answers.

Judaism has a beautiful image of how we each fit into the big picture. Each and every person is a universe -- that's why killing is such a grave sin, it's the destruction of an entire universe. But community is equally important as our universes intersect and engage with each other.

Read Abraham Joshua Heschel until you can find a rabbi. Keep looking.

Hello...

Jews have the good manners not to Evangelize

It always wonders me why they have been so hated wherever they go, because they do not force their beliefs on others, the way that most other religions do.

To me, Modern Evangelical Christian faiths are much more repulsive, and their people much easier to despise (although I work very hard at not doing that), than the Jews...

You can always discuss your questions with a Rabbi, or any learned Jewish person. They're usually happy to answer questions. It's just that they don't buy TV time, and ram it down your throat.....

Namaste, and Happy Holidays,

You seek a man to teach you? Is God not capable of teaching you? You must know God personally your salvation does depend on it. No one can know God for you. You should not follow the teachings of a man but rely on a personal relationship with God. If you seek the truth you will find it. Those that have value in God and seek him will receive faith and through faith will come revelation and then you will have a personal relationship with him.
