She eats her poop, goes to the litter box and eats some of my cat's poop too. Sometimes she poops and urinates in the litter box too. I think she is very confused about herself. What can I do to help her quit eating poop and not urinate in the litter box? Does she think she is a cat? I don't know, serious answers only, please.

Apparently when dogs eat the poo it means they are lacking in some vitamins or something like that anyway - probably best take her to the vet to make sure there is nothing lacking in her diet and then maybe for a start move the litter box to a higher spot that she cant get to - the cat will still use it.

Pretty much you're stuck with scolding the dog in some fashion and hope that the behavior goes away... no real need to stop the dog from peeing in the cat box... better than peeing on the carpet after all...

You might also want to increase the amount of food provided the dog... though I don't know if that will actually help.

For some reason dogs have food issues - they eat their own poop, vomit... whatever... my sisters new dog eats anything, sniffs, and if someone doesn't intervene, into the mouth it goes...

Its weird, but it just seems to be what dogs do - especially when they're young.

You might want to invest in one of those automatic litter boxes that sweep the poop and urine into a hopper that then closes so that she won't have access.

But all seriousness aside, it sounds like your dog is in advanced stages of earth first syndrome. Do you recycle? Do you faithfully obey your guru? Your doggie has become a recycler to a fault. She is only confused as it isn't really within a dogs nature to do this. You must get the dog off this kick by taking her for rides in cars that gulp gas, throw copious amounts of food away in the presence of the dog, toss your trash out the window of your car or home. If you don't move on this immediately, well, you can imagine what the dog may try to recycle next. It could even become involved in legislating what you may throw away and what you cannot toss.

Well if wherever your cat poops clean it up before the dog gets there. If your dog poops then remove he/she from the poop. Clean it up. Then when she gets back she won't be able to eat it because it is not there. She will forget about it. Then for the litter box. Get a baby cage wall or doggy wall to seperrate cat vs. dog. GOOD LUCK!!!

Dogs do that sometimes. I think cat crap must be some kind of hors d'ouevre. Try giving the dog a multi-vitamin mineral supplement, she's probably missing something in her diet.

All dogs do this I call it litter biscuits...NASTY! Just scold the animal when they do it, it will stop. My lab did this and I hear alot of others say thiers did it. Maybe you need to give more at feeding time?

Hehehe. Sorry, that's kinda funny. My dog did that, too. Just discipline. Give a firm "NO!" I also use a spray bottle with water. Just don't hit the dog.
