"Yes I know dogs can produce their own taurine HOWEVER studies have shown dogs on such diets have significantly lower levels of taurine and have medical issue resulting from it." I would absolutely love to see a source for this! The kibble you're referring to isnt a vegan kibble, as it states right on the website. It's not even vegetarian due to some additives. Although I wouldnt feed this to my dog due to the missing amino acids, there are other veg dog kibbles that are sufficiently healthy. "Does the fact the Humane Choice still meets AFFCO standards BUT is lacking in two important amino acids really show that, that stamp of approval doesn't mean the food is actually GOOD for the dog?" There are plenty of kibbles on the market that meet AFFCO standards but arent necessarily a good choice regardless. Consider the kibbles that have byproduct as a first ingredient!

I'm a vegetarian and when I first got my dog I looked into a vegetarian diet for him as well. The problem is that soy protein is used for the bulk of the food, and besides being a genetically modified crop, it is a terrible source of protein for your dog, and may cause severe allergies in the long run. I decided on Innova Evo because it's such a high quality food. http://www.naturapet.com Dogs would normally eat all kinds of meat in the wild, but we as intelligent, compassionate human beings have the choice not to, nor do we need it to live like dogs do. I have seen some vegan brands in chain stores actually, but please do some research before you buy.

Most likely not.
Vegan dog food is more of a speciality item and would be found in maybe health food stores or stores who cater to vegans

I hope not!
That would be irresponsible!
Dogs are omnivores leaning towards carnivores. A large percentage of their diet should be animal protein (you know, other dead animals).
Sometimes I wonder if vegans are capable of proper brain functions due to their bad choice of diet.

Dogs are not vegans. Get a rabbit or a hamster if you are that concerned about your pet not eating meat.

Dogs NEED meat, If you're a vegan, congrats on having that kind of willpower, but please don't try to impose that lifestyle on your dog. they won't get the proper nutrients to keep them healthy or the right enzymes to keep their digestive tract moving smoothly.

i would say not, and it is really expensive too im guessing. dont do that to your dog, they are meant to be carnivores. it could easily mess with your dogs digestive system as well as malnourish it!

I hope not. If I am ever reincarnated as a dog, I hope I don't get a human like you.
