Some gifts are given just because the giver feels obligated to give not because they want too. For ex: Secret Santa's, a co-worker, or a relative that you rarely see. I see nothing wrong with re-gifting these usually cheap and undesired gifts. You may luck out and give it to some one that can really use it. Giving those same unwanted gifts to a Charity is a great idea.

I don't usually but I'm strapped for money this year, so I am regifting a Bath and Body gift set I got at work. I really like it, really want to keep it, but want more to give a friend a gift. I couldn't even get my bf anything.

Just did that at my work Christmas party. It was an absolutely fantastic body cream from Bath & Body Works that was a birthday gift from my mother in law; unfortunately, it was in a smell that I HATE. And I TOLD them it was a regift. Also planning to do that over Christmas. If I didn't regift, it would end up in a yard sale or the trash.

yes, but only if its something i dont like and I know that the recipient will love, and its not noticably old or used. For example I have a Tommy Girl perfume set that I plan on re-gifting, since I dont particularly like the scent.

It's not the gift but the thought. And yes some people do it because they want to give but don't have the money.

It happens.. As someone, very wisely, say here.. there are gifts that you would never use, wear, show... but for some other persons can be useful. So if you have something that you do not like or you do not need... it´s better you give it away to charaty or to someone who will enjoy or need it.
For example, I got this lipstick and I do not like the color.. but my sister likes it.. so I gave it to her. There is nothing wrong with that... RECYCLE it´s better than buy!

I do occasionally, especially if it's somethng I know someone would like better than I do. I also make sure there is no way the original giver will find out what I've done.

Even at my old age (48), I have never re-gifted, I do reuse gift bags, tissue paper and bows though.

Sometimes, I just make sure that the recipient is not someone who originally gave me the gift or someone close to them.

I only have done this when I have no funds for gifts, and then I give items I already own but have never used such as candles.
