Absolutley love them .Especially when you take them out of the mud , rinse them off in clean bay water and then eat them . Simple and spectacular food.

There are different kinds of clams
Hard shell called little necks (small quahogs)
are delicious served on the half shell cold with a seafood or hot sauce.
Soft shell or long neck.Don't know of anyone that eats them raw, however fried whole body or strips are eaten with French fries or freedom fries. similar to fish and chips. Cooked whole or chopped with broth ,cubed potatoes, onion, with tomato soup if desired makes delicious chowder.
The way I like them most is steamed taken out of the shell dunked in butter. I'm getting hungry after all this.

I like raw clams because they are pretty chewy and i enjoy chewy food. When your food is chewy it adds a great deal of impprtance to the food.(mook)

I've never had raw clams...raw oysters are fabulous!

with the exception of the occasional can of tuna...seafood doesn't do it for me...sorry.
