I am trying to ship a package to Canada and on the UPS website it asks for a customs value and i have no clur as to what it is.

Normally the price you paid for it. But for things that you didn't buy then how much it would cost you to buy.

Customs value is for Canadian Customs to keep track of if duties or taxes will be charge on it.

As well as the possibility of the recipient in Canada paying import charges on the goods you are sending, this customs value is needed in case the package goes astray and you want to make a claim with UPS to reimburse you for its value.

Its the Value of the Item you are Sending

You will also need to put your Name and Address on the Front Top Left hand Corner of the Package otherwise it will not be Excepted

That is normally the resale or replacement value. Some goods can be tariffed or taxed when imported
