Depending on the daily dosage of heroin (and other drugs) a few hours. Withdrawal (cold turkey) is very unpleasant and when the addict cannot get the drug or a substitute they become very ill indeed. If need be 'bring the addict to A&E as soon as possile where their condition can be managed.

after watching my best friend go through a heroin addiction and then standing by him throughout rehabs and such all spring summer and fall, i think its safe for me to say that youll notice it in 24 hours, especially when you wake up , but the worst will be about 2 days into it...i.e. diarhea, vomiting, wanting to kill yourself (NO LIE), and all that other fun stuff. i hear its pretty rough. if you havent been using to long though, and you only did it once, im sure you wont notice it much?? i mean, ive seen people try it and nothing happens. and sometimes peoples symptoms of withdraw are more severe/less severe then others
