I get cold sores every once in a while too. i have noticed though that i get them only when i eat certain foods together, like if i eat X for lunch an Y for dinner then i get them since i stopped mixing theses foods i haven't had one yet (knock on wood). One thing that used to help me get rid of them fast was drinking acidic drinks like soft drinks until i almost get diarrhea , cause these things are caused by viruses in the stomach and i noticed the faster you get rid of your stomach contents the faster these sores heal. There are many over the counter stuff that help too. Also, i was visiting this site lately and i think one of the links they have on it talks about cold sores. You can visit yourself and check. Good Luck .The site is :

If you are talking about mouth sores, I have a solution. Mix equal parts of Maalox and children's Benadryl. Swish in your mouth, don't swallow it, for about 30 seconds, then spit it out. It really works!

The thing that clears mine up quick is Blistex. They have it in a lip balm for chapped lips as well. You might want to start using it to see if it will stop them before they start.

I do not get colds, but get cold sores and Blistezee works for me before they arrive.
