The thorn in Paul's side was homosexuality.

If you read his writings you will see that this is a recurring theme of his.

I don't see the connection with Paul's thorn in the flesh (which many believe to have been his poor eyesight) or David's sins with Bathsheba. It was King Saul who had demons, not David. Sin isn't hinged upon possession -- anyone can sin, whether human or angel.

It seems unlikely that Godly people can be possessed. Jesus gave this parable suggesting the nature of spirits and human possession:

"When an evil spirit comes out of a man, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. Then it says, 'I will return to the house I left.' When it arrives, it finds the house unoccupied, swept clean and put in order. Then it goes and takes with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that man is worse than the first. That is how it will be with this wicked generation." (Matthew 12:43-45)

It suggests that if there is no spirit of God present in a person, then the evil spirit is free to occupy the person, like a home. An abandoned home can be occupied by anything, but in an occupied one, the owner will actively keep out unwanted guests. Someone with the spirit of God would have power to prevent ANY unwanted occupation.

The popular notions about demons are Christian distortions of Pagan distortions of an ancient awareness of powers or beings which help in the process of creation which we do not fully understand.

Demons are not, as most people who believe in demons are prone to imagine, some hellish creatures intent upon feasting on our souls or molesting our lives. They are more like collections of instructions for how to create things like cats or cars or people or books, etc...

Think of them as vast complex computer codes for creating the different things you see in a video game. Then imagine these complex codes can think independently and have minds of their own. Then imagine our world is like a video game.

You now have a good idea of what demons and angels truly are.

We humans, with our very limitied understanding and our egocentric, anthropomorphic intelligence ascribe human traits or motivations to these beings who help us to create the worlds we experience.

We are incapable of perceiving the world or imagining anything except in terms with which we are already familiar, therefor we interpret all of our thoughts and experiences in terms which reflect our own natures and idiosynchracies. This is why we conceive of angels and demons in human forms with human motives and objectives; which really is ludicrous.

Why would the instruction set for creating a tornado want to inhabit a human host? It has no need to do so. However a human can access the instruction set of a tornado and then download it, and they may then exhibt the traits of of a tornado including manifesting powerful destructive winds.

But this is not the instruction set willfully possessing a human, this is a human foolishly possessing the wrong creation program in their mind. It may be much less likely for a 'godly' person to accidentally download the instruction set for a locust and then manifest a horde of locusts because 'godly' people may be less likely to dabble in the occult.

However this sort of thing happens to godly people too when they reach out amiguously to experience god and then accidentally connect to a small part of god that might be instructions for how to create a fish. Jesus could clearly access the fish creation code if the bible story of fishes and loaves is to be believed. So a Christian reaching for that miracle might easily download that instruction set and manifest a rain of fishes from the heavens.

We are all capable of downloading inappropriate instruction sets, so we are all vulnerable to manifestations that some people will be prone to describe as angelic or demonic 'possession'. But really it is we who may sometimes possess the wrong creation codes, often without knowing how to use them, rather than the other way around.

NO. when a person gets saved they ask the Holly Spirit to come and live inside them, therefore there is no longer room for a demon to posess a true Christian. howerver a Godly person can still be tempted to sin he just has the power to overcome it even though some choose to not to and they can fall into temptation and sin, that is exactly what David did it wasnt a demon.

It's true that demons can attack and oppress Godly people. They can invade their bodies and afflict pain because of sin and an unrepentant heart but they cannot possess their souls unless that have been given over to them as reprobates. Carnal minded people are subject to chastisements from the LORD God, and He uses Satan for that unique purpose.

Possession and sinning are not the same. David sinned but he was not "possessed". Godly people would not invite the devil in. Jesus said "no man can serve two masters".
