In Illinois, SOS generated an I.D. file for "Santa Clause"...he's listed at 5'00" / 300 lbs w/ wht hair and blue eyes showing a "winter wonderland" address (I can't remember the D.O.B). Do other states have this fictional file as well ? I'm gonna print it so I can show my kids when they start having doubts about him. Christmas is more fun when kids still believe.

Great idea.

Try this website from NORAD : (North American Aerospace Defense Command) . They track Santa's flight on Christmas eve on their 47 military radars sites across North America for the kids:

http://www.noradsanta.org

There's also a link on their site where they can send Santa an e-mail to the North Pole:

NorthPole@OfficialSantaMail.com

Hope you and your family have a Merry Christmas!

PS....I was on the job for 26 years and on every Christmas Eve at almost midnight, (no matter how busy we were) our Central communications (dispatchers) would put out a BOLO broadcast of a report of a large bearded white male wearing a red suit and flying in a sleigh pulled by reindeer that was landing on rooftops.

It was cute and even the hardened veterans smiled.

That is pretty cool. Alabama doesn't have anything like that at least not that I'm aware of but most dispatchers put out a BOLO. It's pretty neat to see the kids faces light up when they hear it. It's an even easier way to get them to be ON TIME!!! Merry Christmas and always be careful out there brother.

I don't know if our state has one or not but that sounds cool. And yes, you are 100% correct when you say that Christmas is so much more fun when children believe. My daughters are all grown and for a couple of years Christmas was very boring. My husband and I even contemplated not putting up a tree one year. But then the grandchildren started coming and now we have 6 of them. Once again Christmas is wonderful and magical again.

That is HILARIOUS! Our local dispatchers do a BOL every Christmas Eve for the jolly fella so the kids in scanner land can hear it.

Go buy a short can of silly string at the dollar store (the 3-4" tall ones). Wrap it in black electrical tape, then start bragging about your new "pepper foam." When you've got their attention, take it out as if to show them, and spray it at them.

i believe arkansas does. used to dispatch there...they had some goofy leads files.
the funniest thing was when ASP put out a BOLO on a red sleigh, gave out a description of santa and a direction of travel.
