I have noticed blood in my stool a few sporatic times. The blood was in the actual stool itself and on the tissue. I have experienced no other serious symptoms. Maybe a stomach ache here and there but I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it. It hasn't happened in six days, though. Does this sound serious?

Sounds like hemorrhoids. They can be internal. You don't have to have any external symptoms.

Also could be irritable bowel syndrome, which I have. You'd have some stomach discomfort on the lower left side periodically if that's the problem. If the stool is sitting on the irritated portion of the bowel, that would account for the blood in it.

I won't go into details, but you can do a search on it.

I do suggest going to visit doc.

Sweetie, It could be a number of things. The fact is that it is never good to see any type of blood in your stool. Go to google.com and type in 'blood in stool'. They have a symptom checker that you can take and it will help you kind of see whether you need to go to the doctor or not. I hope this helps you. Please dont wait too long to get some attention for this.

Yes it could be, seek out a doctors opinion and have tests done. It might be hemorrhoids to colon cancer. The sooner your diagnosed the sooner you can get treatment for both. Good luck and have a Very Merry Christmas.

It may be hemorroids, but don't take a chance. A friend of ours had blood in his stool for quite a period of time and thought it was only hemorroids but it turned out to be colon cancer (not to scare you, just beware). Take care, hope it's nothing.
