It doesn't work like that. She'll only have the amount of puppies according to the actual amount of eggs that are fertilized. Your dog won't "save eggs" until she breeds. The amount of puppies varies. I've seen dogs with only one puppy, and I've seen larger dogs with like 10. Of course, the more puppies the dog has, the greater chance of not all the puppies living. In larger broods, it's basically expected to lose some puppies. If the moma dogs also senses something is wrong with a puppy, she may go and kill it. See that before also. Usually I've seen dogs with anywhere from 2 to 6 puppies. The gestation period (the time the puppies are in the moma) is usually from 63 to 65 days. You can count on that...from the day of breeding. Best of luck to you.

Skipping heats has nothing to do with number of puppies she'll have. That's determined by whether or not you breed her at the correct time, number of matings, health and breed of your dog.

And since you don't know this, you also won't know how to actually handle the mating, look after a pregnant *****, help her through whelping or look after a litter of new borns. So, you obviously have no business breeding!

If you are asking this question you obviously do not know:

- the science of genetics and breeding
- the average litter size of your particular breed
- how to be responsible
- the plight of dogs being destroyed which have no homes

You have no business contributing to the numbers of homeless dogs. For shame!

You never know for sure, but generally when the dog is physically mature, she can have as many pups as she has nipples!
The average is 5-7 for most types of dogs.
It really depends on the size, breed, and genetics of the dog. (and on the male!)

I think you are sick for bringing these animals into the world. making the poor dog breed just for your own ends, monetary or what I don't know. Too many unwanted animals in this world now. Do the decent thing and have it de-sexed. You obviously don't care for the poor animal.
Shame on you!!!
