My mom lives alone since my father died in April...she is not very mental stable and is handicapped..i have a hard time dealing with her being alone..and i know if we lived together we would kill each other...she lets everyone she knows run her over and they take all of her money..i have even called the cops on her neighbors due to this..they use her terribly and she does nothing about it...i work full time and go to school part time so im always extremely busy...i dont know what to do...i was thinking about placing her in a nursing home but i have two big problems..one she is still fairly young..only 59..and i work in one....please any advice would be greatly appreciated.

There are many organization to help your mother and you. Your mother needs a social worker to evaluate her mental and physical status. They have a list of housing, doctors, care givers, etc. She does not need a nursing home yet, keep her going, lift up her spirits, phone her with encouragement.
I do not know what state you live in, below are some websites that will get you started. When you contact the people at these sites, they will be very familiar with your situation.

Place her in a seniors apartments. She will have her independance and care when she needs it. My grandmother used to live in one and she was so happy. Good luck and happy holidays.

yeah it depends on what she wants but if she wants something stupid,u better rush and take her to the rehab
