Hmmmmmmmmmm.... More entertaining? They are so different. They are both entertaining, depending what you like and what your lifestyle is.
I have 2 indoor cats and a very active Australian Shepherd.
The Aussie is a lot of fun, taking him for hikes in the woods and playing frisbee with him at the park, swimming the river for the frisbee in the summer and just generally being with us ALLL the time.
The cats are affectionate when they WANT to be. They love to play with their toys and do flips and somersaults. My female cat follows me around and 'talks' to me all the time. She used to be allowed to go outside and she would follow me when I took the dog for a walk. My male cat is older and he curls up on my lap every night when I watch tv.
I personally love both cats AND dogs and couldn't imagine not having both in my home.

It depends on what you're looking for. A dog is more willing to give you love and worship you as the best thing since sliced bread. A cat can be very friendly, too, but they have a mind of their own. They are the best thing since the WHEEL (in their minds). If you need some love after a bad day, or a self-esteem boost, try the dog- but if you need to be kept humble, get the cat.
(I personally have dogs, though I enjoy cats, too. And believe me, the best thing to come home to is a happy dog- even if you've only been gone five minutes, they greet you like you went to Mars for a year!)
Good luck!

As a whole I would say yes, but cats can be entertaining as well. Cats are just more independent than dogs. A dog is more likely to adore you and want to be with you and do things with you all the time. Where as cat's can be friendly and cuddly but they pretty much do what they want to do, when they want.

usually yes, but my kitty, Buster is totally spastic and good for hours of entertainment. We have a running joke that he smokes crack in the bathroom because he'll hide in the tub for a few minutes, then start running from room to room looking out the windows. For a 23 lb cat, he can really move!!! He also plays fetch, and plays hide-and-go-seek with us, after we find him, he'll wait a couple minutes and come find you, attack your leg, run and hide again. He'll do this as long as you're willing to play. He only sleeps 7-8 hours a day, when we're up, he's up. He's also totally intrigued by computer solitaire and wants to help me play, he understands the red on black/black on red thing, but he hasn't learned his numbers yet (but he's only 1 1/2). His best friend is a 3 pound mini chihuahua, and sniffs more animal butt than any dog I've ever seen. He's also having an affair with my right slipper. He'll fight me for it, he usually wins, and he takes it under my son's bed and makes the strangest noises while he's doing his business. He kicked my dad's rott's *ss in a fight. He's the most entertaining pet I've ever adopted

oh yes!

The cat simply sits around and doesn't even know how to play fetch! The dog on the other hand can play fetch run *learn tricks*
and is much more entertaining than a cat!

Dogs are the greatest and way better companions. They love you no matter what, they are over joyed when you come home. You can play ball, tug-o-war, take them for walks and car rides. train them to do almost anything, and most of all they love being with you. You really matter to them where as a cat could careless. I take my dog swimming in the summer and sledding in the winter and he goes everywhere with me. Cats do not do much besides play in their own **** scratch and really do care if you exist or not.

Dogs tend to try to please their owners since they are very dependant on being "part of the family". If the dog sees that something he did elicited a positive emotion, they will strive to repeat. I have a Shiba Inu who for some reason got into a position where he was nearly standing on his head. He accidentally flipped and I laughed my butt off. Now he purposely tries to stand on his head whenever he thinks I am not paying attention to him

Cats however, are much more independent. They can be very entertaining, but they do so for their own sake.

It depends on what you like best, a dog or a cat and it depends also on the dog or the cat. I think they are both "entertaining". ; )

I believe dogs are alot more entertaining than cats, plus you can do alot more with dogs than you can with cats. Cats are very independent animals.

I think so, in my opinion. The way I see it, is cats sit around doing nothing, well dogs play around and are outgoing. But I read somewhere Americans have more cats than dogs!! I couldn't belive it.
