When I first started using SD cards 2 GB were very expensive and hard to find. I am thrilled now to find 2 GB everywhere and very cheap! I wouldn't buy a bigger one. One 2 GB card held all of my pictures from a one week vacation in the bahamas approx 1000 pictures. If you have 10 mega pixels or more then you may need a bigger card or if you shoot lots of video on it then go bigger. But here is why I wouldn't. If that card is damaged and you lost all of your pictures, would you rather have lots thousands of pictures... me neither. The longer you put off backing them up, the more risk you will take. I might even go as far to say buy 2 cards that are 1-2GB each. That way, when one if full you can pop in the other and still have plenty of space but it will force you to save your pics often enough to not lose your pictures. Your local discount mega mart has these 2 GB SD cards for about $10-12. Look for one that has it's own plastic case. It might be a dollar or two more and it won't look like much but it will protect your cherished pictures better.

no, all the SD cards are the same. It is the number of megapixels your camera has that determines the quality of the photo. You can buy a 15 dollar SD card at Big Lots and it is just as good as the 40 dollar one from Best Buy.

No. They just hold data. The camera resolution determines the quality of the image, the card just stores it.

no but it may depend on the record speed onto the card as well as the resolution of the camera and mostly the lens
