I've been friends with this guy for about a year and we are really good friends, we talk about eveyrything. Over the summer we "hung out" a lot and i got liking him more and more. i've liked him ever since, but ididnt ask him out cuz i thought it would ruin our great friendship if he didnt want to be more than just friends. The other day he said yes to a chik who asked him out, even though he tells me that they dont even talk or anything. Last night i was IMing him and he said that i should get a boyfriend and that if i want to go out with someone i need to ask them instead of not doing anything about it. Recently hes been acting like he might like me, like he always scoots closer when we're standing or sitting next to each other, he tries to touch me in little ways that he doesnt think i'll notice but i do (on the arm, "accidentally" brushing against me, etc), and he gets uncomfortable talking about girls to me even thogh he did before. what do you think about this?

i cant ask him out now he has a girlfriend. it seems like he doesnt really like her that much and i can tell their relationship wont last long

o-k, I think you know the answer to your own question, but I will tell you anyway.He knows that you like him.He can sense it but he also knows your shy.He wants to be respectful to you and therefore wants you to come out of your shell and express how you really feel.This is why he said for you to "ask instead of doing nothing about it".You see, he doesn't want to go out with this other girl, he wants to go with you but he needs you to not be meek and afraid.ALot of guys need a women to show that they feel what they feel.He doesn't want to give you something that he isn't sure your going to take whole hearted.
He isn't going to wait forever for you to come out of that shell.If you want him for you do it before the other girl gives him her feelings and takes him away from you.

I,d say that the two of you need to make the next move! best of friends can be that much better lovers! if you two talk so much than it shouldn't be that difficult to set down guild lines, so that your good friendship wont be jeopardized,like being honest,I do believe that if you don't make a move now and some one Else comes along and snags him without you trying than i feel your probably going to wonder for ever,all he can say is he wants to stay friends! and at least you will know if he feels the same or not! and if not just think !!! your his best friend so if you don't like who he,s going out with,well you have the final say! yes or she walks!
the Christmas time is a good time as any! Go Get him!

Ok, this may not be true in your situation, but I'll tell you what I've recently been told by my best male friend.
He told me the other day that he regrets never dating me. Apparently, we both liked each other more than friends, but both of us were too afraid to ruin the friendship, to ask for more. I'm currently married to someone else, but he told me that if he ever gets a chance to be with me again, that he'd marry me.

He likes you. The whole accidentally touching and stuff is totally a guy who likes a girl but isn't quite sure how she'll take it. First see if he is at all still interested in the other girl, then ask him out.

it sounds like he likes you.
i had a situation just about the same.
if he has a gf, you can't really do anything.
if he wants you, then he'll break up with her.
don't ruin it for him though.
but if you guys do end up going out, remember to always make your friendship FIRST.
you have no idea how important that is.
i have made that mistake before.
it was rocky for a while but we finally we close again.

Yeah girl he likes you. The scooting and touching thing totally gives it away. If you like him move in for the kill because he feels the same for you. Just let your heart do the work and make the moves.

Sounds like he likes you too, maybe he just went out with that other girl to make you jealous. Why are you worried about ruining our friendship, the person you marry should be your best friend, soul mate, confidant...you guys already have that.

At first I was thinking that it would be a bad thing to ask him if he liked you or to ask him out because if he doesn't like you that will most likely ruin your friendship together. But the more I read the more it sounds like he's trying to flirt with you...so cute. It sounds like he likes you. You should ask him!

Acknowlegde the attention he is giving you. Smile at him. Let him know you are enjoying these small forms of affection. Then wait untill he ditches the girl. After that, take him.
